Each year, ConocoPhillips updates a social account of the values created in connection with the activities in the Greater Ekofisk Area. The most recent update, which includes the figures for 2010, shows that the total value creation from the Greater Ekofisk Area is a stunning 1 804 billion kroner.
Ekofisk makes a significant contribution to the Norwegian state. About half the value creation, or 902 billion kroner, is taxes and fees. About 594 billion kroner have been spent on investments and operations through goods and services from the supplier industry.
Behind the value creation figures is a total production volume of 5.4 billion barrels of oil equivalent, or 860 million standard cubic meters. Processing and tariff revenue come in addition.
