ConocoPhillips received the ‘Gullkronen 2014’ award for Project Developer of the Year on the Norwegian shelf at Rystad Energy’s annual gathering for the oil industry.

The category for the best project developer in 2013 was won by ConocoPhillips when the consulting services company Rystad Energy presented prizes to the best players in the Norwegian oil industry at its sixth annual awards ceremony. The ‘Gullkronen’ is awarded to companies, teams or individuals who have shown outstanding achievements on the NCS during the previous year. Nine awards in nine categories were handed out at the event in Oslo on 5 February.

The jury’s reasoning for the 'Gullkronen 2014 – Project Developer of the Year' award states that the winner has reached yet another milestone in its history on the NCS. By delivering on time and below budget, the operator is ready for another 40 years on the NCS. The jury says it is impressed with the company’s capacity to deliver such extensive projects while maintaining full operations on the NCS’s largest field.

General Manager, Capital Projects for Europe, Middle East, Africa and Deepwater, John Devins, along with Project Managers Olav Henriksen and Tor Inge Hansen, received the award on behalf of the company.

‘Receiving a 'Gullkronen 2014' award is a great recognition for the entire Norwegian projects organization and the extensive work being done to ensure that the Greater Ekofisk area will continue to play a key role in the Norwegian oil industry for another 40 years,’ says John Devins.

ConocoPhillips was also awarded the 2013 Gullkronen. Then the company won in the category of best Field Operator based on the commitment to address production decline with new wells.
