ConocoPhillips med betydelig oljefunn i Norskehavet

HOUSTON - ConocoPhillips (NYSE: COP) offentliggjør i dag et nytt oljefunn i Norskehavet i utvinningstillatelse 891 på Slagugle-prospektet 23 km nord-nordøst for Heidrun-feltet. ConocoPhillips Skandinavia AS er operatør for utvinningstillatelsen med 80 prosent eierandel. Pandion Energy AS er lisenspartner med 20 prosent eierandel.  

Foreløpige anslag antyder størrelsen på funnet til mellom 75 og 200 millioner fat utvinnbare oljeekvivalenter (12 og 32 millioner Sm3). Omfattende datainnsamling og prøvetaking er utført i letebrønnen 6507/5-10. Videre avgrensing vil bli gjennomført for å vurdere produksjonspotensialet og utvinnbare reserver – og planer for mulige utbyggingsløsninger.

- Dette funnet er vår fjerde vellykkede letebrønn på norsk kontinentalsokkel de siste 16 månedene," sier Matt Fox, executive vice president og chief operating officer. Alle fire funnene er gjort i modne deler av Nordsjøen og Norskehavet, og en fremtidig mulig utbygging kan gjøres med svært lave balansepris. Dette funnet kan være med på å videreføre vår mer enn 50-årige tilstedeværelse i Norge.  

Funnbrønnen ble boret på 355 meters vanndyp til en total dybde på 2179 meter av boreriggen Leiv Eiriksson.
