The Ekofisk Complex in the North Sea.

Total gross production from the fields in the Greater Ekofisk Area amounted to around 150,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022. At the same time, large volumes of water are injected to maintain pressure in the reservoir. The Greater Ekofisk Area production is mainly oil from naturally fractured chalk in a reservoir at a depth of 3000 meters below the seabed. Associated gas is part of the production, as well as natural gas from Tommeliten A. Oil and gas volumes are transported via pipelines from Ekofisk, where the gas is transported to Emden in Germany and the oil is sent to Teesside in the UK.

At any given time, around 850 employees are involved in the operations on installations, rigs, and vessels in the Greater Ekofisk Area, and around 250 employees are involved in activities at the terminal in Teesside. Operations in the Greater Ekofisk Area and Teesside, as well as the region at large, are supported by employees from the company's headquarters and base at Tananger in Sola.

With high standards for Health, Safety and Environment, we constantly strive to influence activities to ensure safe and efficient operations, as well as achieve high value creation in all licenses, both as operator and partner. We have ownership in a number of licenses and producing fields on the Norwegian shelf, resulting in overall net production for ConocoPhillips of around 125,000 barrels of oil equivalent per day in 2022.
