ONS celebrates 40 years.  ConocoPhillips’ stand is also this time in Hall E.  As part of this year’s ONS participation the company has published a magazine

250x_Artikkelbilde_ConocoPhillips-mag Eng.jpgThis magazine will take you to the world of ConocoPhillips – and show some of the highlights from the past years on the Norwegian shelf, where we have created values and built expertise for more than 40 years. The infrastructure in the Greater Ekofisk Area has been renewed and a great many wells will be drilled in the years ahead.

We will take you on a journey to the new platforms, and make a quick stop in the world of the fields’ rescue service and telemedicine. These are areas that help create a safe framework for everyone working in the North Sea.

But what about when old wells are shut down, platforms are removed and taken to shore? A number of platforms have been removed from Ekofisk over the past five years, and 98 percent of the steel has been recycled. We have followed some of it along its journey – until it ended up as reinforcement for Siddishallen in Stavanger.

We also present our partner operations, which is an important contribution to our activities in Norway. About half of the company’s net production on the Norwegian shelf comes from fields where we are not the operator, but we have ownership interests.

We are also focused on the north, and are currently the operator of one license, with ownership interests in four other licenses in the Barents Sea. ConocoPhillips has nearly 50 years of experience from activities in Arctic regions, particularly from Alaska, which we present in this magazine. Although we are an experienced operator in Arctic regions, research is still needed to solve challenges that are unique for activities in our very northernmost waters. The work is a long-term process. We are a real pioneer, and our goal is to still be a key player on the Norwegian shelf in 2050.
